Allow me to introduce myself...
My name is Andi Mettler, and I am originally from Spring Valley , MN. Being the second oldest from a large family, I can appreciate the family unit and how this forms and influences the students I see in the classroom.
As an aspiring elementary education teacher, I have a strong interest in Montessori education. Being homeschooled for the majority of my education has fostered a sense of intrigue in alternative methods of teaching and I have found many to be highly effective in reaching and forming diverse learners. I believe that in order to teach to our unique learners, we often have to find equally unique methods to foster the creative learner in all individuals.
I will be graduating in April of 2022 with a Bachelor's degree in both Elementary Education and Special Education. My choice to study Special Education was largely influenced by my own personal experiences growing up and my current job with Poppies Promise in Bismarck, ND.

“Education is to guide activity, not repress it. Environment cannot create human power, but only give it scope and material, direct it, or at most but call it forth; and the teacher's task is first to nourish and assist, to watch, encourage, guide, induce, rather than to interfere, prescribe, or restrict”
― Maria Montessori, The Montessori Method
