Teaching Philosophy
My philosophy of education is that all learners are unique and should be provided an interactive environment in which they are given opportunities to grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. As an educator, my goal is to provide students with a safe environment where diverse learning styles are encouraged, students are advocates for each other, and they maintain a growth mindset both in the classroom and in life.
“The environment must be rich in motives which lend interest to activity and invite the child to conduct his own experiences.”
― Dr. Maria Montessori
Classroom Management
In order to allow for creativity and diverse learning, there must be mutual respect between the students and educator. As a teacher in a classroom, it is important to create clear behavioral expectations and establish classroom norms and routines right away. Not only does this help create a safe space for children to focus on exploring and learning, but it allows the educator to focus on students and recognize when behavior is communicating something the student cannot.
